The Linking of PAN with Aadhar is mandatory till 31.03.2023 to avoid deactivation of PAN.
Therefore, if you do not link your PAN with Aadhar, the PAN will be deactivated after 31st March’2023.
The Deactivation of PAN after 31.03.2023 can affect your bank accounts, investments and other things which are linked with the PAN.Also, you will not be able to file your ITR and do all the income tax related stuff without an active PAN. Therefore, PAN deactivation is a serious issue and must be linked with Aadhar before 31st March’2023.

Ans:As per notification No. 37/2017, the following persons are exempt from Linking PAN with Aadhar:

Ans: Some of the disadvantages of not linking PAN with Aadhar are:
- You will not be able to file your ITR since PAN will be deactivated.
- Pending ITRs and refund claims will not be processed if the PAN is deactivated.
- Deactivation of PAN will affect banking transactions as transactions above a certain limit require
PAN. - To avail the benefit of government schemes, the PAN is required therefore the benefit may be
revoked if PAN is deactivated. - TDS/TCS Credit may not be available in absence of an active PAN.
- You may not able to open a bank and get Debit/ Credit cards from the bank
- Sale or purchase of goods or services by any person more than Rs.2,00,000 per transaction cannot be done.
Ques 8.What are some issues being faced while linking PAN and aadhar?
Ans: While linking PAN with Aadhar, there can be some mismatches due to which the Aadhar is not linked
PAN.There are some details which should match in bothPAN and Aadhar like Date of Birth, Year of birth, Name
and surname of the individual, Fathers’ Name. If these do not match then PAN and aadhar will not get linked.
The individual will have to make changes in either PAN or Aadhar by applying for changes/correction in either
by providing documentary proof in order to link the two. Therefore, if you haven’t linked your PAN and Aadhar
yet, then do so immediately.
